Theodore "Ted" Schwinden (August 31, 1925; Wolf Point, Montana) served as the 19th Governor of Montana from 1981 until 1989.[1]
Schwinden was 23rd Lieutenant Governor of Montana, serving under Governor Thomas Judge and defeated his predecessor in the Democratic primary in 1980.[2][3] He is a member of the United States Democratic Party.
His wife, former Montana First Lady Jean Schwinden, died from cancer on March 24, 2007, aged 81.[4]
